The Heartsaver Cardiopulmonary Resusciation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) course contains up-to-date content and science from the 2010 Guidelines for CPR and ECC. It is designed to teach lay rescuers the lifesaving skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and relief of choking in adults, children and infants, as well as how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) with both adults and children. (Training in infant and child CPR and choking relief are optional.) The course is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

Completion Requirements:
- To receive a Heartsave CPR & AED course completion card, students must pass a skills test.
- To receive a Heartsaver CPR & AED (C) course completion card, a written exam must be administered in addition to the skills test.
